Overview

On behalf of Drexel University, the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and SUNY Cortland, we are pleased to have successfully completed the 2nd annual Noyce Northeast Regional Conference. This conference brought together PIs, Noyce pre-service Scholars, and Noyce in-service Scholars (Teachers) from the 44+ Noyce Programs in the Northeast region to meet, network, and share ideas and best practices pertinent to teaching in high-need schools. The conference was a great professional development opportunity, including relevant speakers and informative workshops on topics such as classroom management, technology, and model lessons/activities. There will always be opportunities to network and meet fellow Scholars and teachers.

We are very pleased that we received funding for 2012 that was available for up to two PIs/Co-PIs/project staff and two Noyce pre-service/in-service Scholars. The grant paid for travel and hotel costs associated with the conference. Invitations  were sent to all active programs in the Northeast region (CT, DE, MD, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, WV, VT).

We look forward to creating new connections and strengthening the currrent community of Noyce Scholars!
